This past Valentine’s Day weekend, the hubby and I had the chance to wander the fabulous streets of Verona, Italy. It was absolutely beautiful. The people, the sights, the food, and even the smells were all amazing. It felt like I was walking back in ancient times. You know, where real history took place.
As we continue on with our stroll, we stumble on to the Olivo Ristorante, It was tucked within the row of restaurants in the Piazza Bra across from the Arena.
What’s pretty fascinating about this restaurant, as are most restaurants in Italy, is that it is nestled in a few centuries old building. When we walked in it was hip and modern, old with a mix of new. It was right where I wanted to be.
The hubby, kiddos and I nestled into what proved to be our new favorite restaurant in Verona. The menu was divine. Even more importantly, it was our first dinner that we all sat around the table and talked with no phones being pulled out. Not to translate anything, not to check the weather. It was an entire dinner of laughs and love, perfect for the Valentine’s weekend. Well, the little one just wanted to eat his bread, so we let him.
As we waited we talked about life and dreams and goals for the year. We talked about cars because that is what my oldest one is obsessed with. It was a great afternoon. What was fabulous about the Olivo Ristorante in Verona, Italy was the food. I just love going to restaurants where all the food is amazing. This was one of those kind of restaurants, or shall I say ristorante.
Doesn’t this look amazing. This is truly what #lovetasteslike. As my husband was in his true party pooper form when it came to dessert time, we ended lunch with a drink and continued on our stroll through Verona.
I do believe I have found my new favorite city. Verona was a sweet treat and will forever be in my heart. Every brick and every utterance of the word Ciao was refreshing as I got to experience 2 centuries old history.
What is one of your favorite cities? What do you love about it? I’d love to know!
