A couple weekends back, hubby was off and we were having a lazy Saturday. Lazy Saturdays are great except for the part where we all don’t want to do anything (this includes me) but everyone is waiting for me to cook. Sheesh. This past Saturday was not exception. I just wanted to Netflix and chill like the rest of the house. Heh. So I made burgers. You know, something quick. I also made fries. The fries, y’all, were so good. They weren’t just everyday frozen fries out the bag either. I made Cajun ranch oven roasted fries. I am just going to reach my hand around and pat myself on the back because these oven roasted fries were so good!
I gathered 7-9 Yukon gold potatoes. They were medium sized, definitely smaller than my fist. I rinsed them, sliced them in half, and then sliced each half of the potato in thirds. That part was pretty simple. I laid them out on a cookie sheet and patted them dry as they were still wet when I rinsed them. Oil has to go on them so they can crisp in the oven. Everybody knows oil and water doesn’t mix.
So I already did not want to get up. I secretly was hoping that everybody would have been perfectly happy eating turkey sandwiches. Why oh why have I spoiled my boys. Sigh. You know my little sous chef snuck on in.
My strange little creature. I had to keep him occupied so I could show how I made these amazing Cajun ranch oven roasted fries. So I put him on peanut butter cookie duty. Lol 🙂
Now, let’s get back to the recipe.
You want to put the potatoes in a bowl, or you really could just leave it on the cookie sheet. Pour about 3 tablespoons over the potatoes. Sprinkle the seasoning on the potatoes and then toss. You are going to want all of the potatoes to be evenly coated. It smells amazing. I promise.
The Potatoes will bake for approximately 45 minutes. How be it ever, you want to toss and flip them while they are cooking. You don’t want only one side to brown.
After 45 minutes, magic happens. The potatoes are done and you can eat. Although we ate these fries with our burgers, they would easily go amazing with my Cuban Pulled Pork Sliders. My next task will be to create a dipping sauce to go with this. Stay tuned for that! Enjoy and let me know how it comes out! Hopefully, you won’t be like me and have to make extra dishes just to keep the little one busy.
